Taking Rights Seriously Foundation
Dismayed by the prevalent apathy and indifference towards the issues affecting, directly or indirectly, the interests of the society, TRSF is conceived to commit itself in addressing the issues which need to be addressed.
This ‘chalta hai’ or business-as-usual approach has been, unfortunately, internalised by many of us. This cavalier outlook shown by the government towards protecting the interests of the governed needs to be shunned and replaced by a genuine effort to resolve the societal problems.
Through spreading awareness, sensitisation, writing to the authorities, litigation – all for public interest, we strive to bring a change in our society so that the government takes the rights of the governed, and the governed claim their respective rights, SERIOUSLY.
Who We Are
TRSF is not-for-profit company based in Delhi incorporated in the year 2020 under section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.
Pledge
To untiringly work for the welfare of the society.
To facilitate ‘access to justice’ to all sections of the society in general, and the weakest sections in particular.
To sensitise the public about their rights, claims and entitlements.
To focus on finding solutions to the problems faced particularly by the disadvantaged sections of our society like women, minors, members of LGBTQIA communities, followers of minority religious beliefs, etc.
To provide free legal assistance/representation to the marginalized sections of the society.
